Our Story

Raised on the good stuff.

My Dad was originally a butcher. We had a small shop on our family farm in Huron County. The pepperettes, the jerky, the summer sausage. All of it was the real deal.

That set the bar for me. Everything else on the shelf was always a letdown.

From the kitchen to the market

For the first half of my life, cooking was my trade. The original plan was to be a chef. Country's Finest started on the side.

The early days were certainly a grind. I can remember a homemade table, built with my grandfather, tied to the roof of my first car with nylon rope. Markets in Goderich, Keady, Grand Bend and London. Any and every event that would have us.

Then my son was born in April 2007, and the reality of that responsibility kicked in. I left the kitchen that day and went full time with Country's Finest.

We settled in Waterloo, where I was raised, and the St. Jacobs Farmers' Market was the obvious fit. We have been there for almost 20 years.

When the world shut down, it opened my eyes

I had talked about growing for years. It was time. We went all in with an exceptional provincially inspected facility that shares our high standards, so we could take it beyond just the markets and bring it to everyone.

Our promise

Real cuts. Pork shoulder for the sausage sticks. Whole muscle beef for the jerky.

The long way. Fermented, air dried and naturally smoked over real hardwood. No shortcuts.

Small batch. Made in Ontario by people who care how it tastes.

Who we make it for

People who can truly appreciate the difference. And people who have never had the opportunity to taste it.

Authentic dry cured sausage sticks and premium beef jerky. A real delicacy, not another mass produced meat snack.

What's next

We are currently working on moving into stores across Ontario, and on our federal licensing so we can bring it to the whole country.

"To everyone who has bought a pack, told a friend, or come back week after week: thank you. We would not be here without you."
